There is also a liquid stain on the bottom right corner. Otherwise, only some minor wear and soiling, and overall the condition is VG. ( ad21); $125.

The paper is pulpish,, the covers  is chipped , the second page has some dampstainig along the top left edge, the last few pages has tears, a small loss of paper in the enter o. Despite these flaws, most of the remaining catalog is good with every page loaded with illustrated ads for rifles, guns, revolvers, knives, etc. . Sold as is. *Sp256); $95.

nw553.jpg (657143 bytes)SPORTING - FOREST AND STREAM  MAGAZINE 1875.   Forest and Stream- A Weekly Journal Of Field And Aquatic Sports, Practical Natural History, Forest & Stream Pub., 1875,  illus., ads for sporting equipment, guns, fishing tackle, etc. , 11 x 15. Forest and Stream was a magazine featuring hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities in the United States. The journal was founded in August 1873 by Charles Hallock.  It was an early vehicle for conservationism, dedicated to wildlife conservation, helped to launch the National Audubon Society, was an early sponsor the national park movement, and supported the U.S.-Canadian Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918. At the time of its 1930 cancellation it was the ninth oldest magazine still being issued in the US. We have a small number of different issue from 1875; this will be an issue taken at random. All issues are taken from a bound volume, with light accompanying bindery marks along spine, light wear, perhaps a few minor  edge tears, no missing or torn pages,  paper a bit pulpish with light age toning, overall Fine .
