Cabinet card, 4 ¼ x 6 ½ . Rain-in-the-Face, with printed caption, copyright notice and imprint for Barry's West Superior, WI studio, on mount, repeated verso with portrait of Gall; early 1890s.
Rain-In-The-Face (ca 1835-1905) was the Hunkpapa Lakota war Chief instrumental in the Sioux Wars of the 1860s and 70s, at various points fighting beside Red Cloud, Gall, Crazy Horse, and Sitting Bull.
